GetAnAnimal has added the Standard Poodle to our family and hope to have our first litter of Poodles by early 2018 . We anticipate having several different colors including parti-colored. The Standard Poodle is a medium- to large-sized dog. The Standard Poodle is proud, graceful, noble, good-natured, enjoyable and cheerful. This highly intelligent dog is one of the most trainable breeds. It is generally friendly toward strangers, and is excellent with children. Since we have added the Standard Poodle to our family we have learned so much about them. After having Aussies for more than 40 years, we felt we needed to open our heart to another breed. With much research and after being around neighbors/friends that had Standard Poodles and Poodles of all sizes, we realized that we just had to add this extraordinary breed to our family. We are elated with our choice in adding the Standard Poodle to our family. We have fell in love with the breed. We believe we have selected the perfect breeds to offer as furbabies to our customers. We look forward to offering Aussiedoodles, Standard Australian Shepherds, and Standard Poodles as furbabies to our customers in the future.
Aussiedoodles, Poodles, & Aussies respond well to positive reinforcement and you will be rewarded with a wonderful companion if you start training your new furbaby at an early age. GetAnAnimal does make sure that all our furbabies are well socialized prior to leaving home. We love each one and develop a personal relationship with each puppy. All our puppies are bathed, groomed, handled, and played with their entire puppy life with us, so that when you get them they will love you. GetAnAnimal takes pride in the temperament and quality of our dogs and we pride ourselves in breeding only select dogs to enhance temperament and quality of the breeds. We love all our animals, dogs, cats, etc. and strive to offer the perfect pet to our customers.
The Standard Poodles weight ranges from 45 - 70 pounds with a height ranging from 15 - 24 inches. The Standard Poodle has a graceful, medium-sized frame with a rounded skull, a long head and muzzle, dark oval eyes and wide, close-hanging ears. They have long legs that give them a springy step, docked tails (usually) and compact feet. The coat is sometimes curly and wiry and sometimes soft and wavy. The Poodle has a wide variety of colouring, including white, black, brown, parti, silver, gray, silver beige, apricot, red, cream, sable, and patterns such as phantom and brindle. Grooming styles include the “pet clip” (short all over), the “Continental clip” (the hindquarters shaved, half of the tail and the upper half of the legs) “English saddle clip” (same as the “Continental Clip” except the hindquarters are not shaved). Most show dogs appear with the “Continental Clip.” Poodles also have the advantage of being the lightest-shedding, most hypoallergenic of all coated breeds.
Standard Poodles are elegant, energetic athletes who move with a light, springy gait. They excel in advanced obedience competition, where retrieving and jumping skills are required, and in agility (obstacle course) competitions, where they fly over and under and through the obstacles with a strength and grace that is breathtaking to watch. Standard Poodles are one of the smartest and most trainable of all breeds. They are "thinking" dogs who pay rapt attention to their owner, learns quickly, and responds eagerly to positive training methods. Poodles are clever and lively household companions and adaptable to their environments —it’s no surprise that they were once very popular circus dogs. Poodles are eager to please and a lot of fun to be around. Poodles are happiest with daily walks and lots of outdoor play. Poodles love water so if you can give your Poodle the opportunity to frolic in water, by all means do. The Standard Poodle, with his greater size and strength, is the best athlete of the Poodle family and tends to be more outgoing. They love being around people and are able to form bonds with each member of the family, as opposed to bonding with just one person. Poodles are ideal family dogs, being both patient, and playful with children.
Poodles have a reputation for being hypoallergenic, meaning that they can be tolerated by people who have allergies to dogs. But allergies are caused not by a particular dog coat type but by dander, the dead skin cells that are shed by all dogs. There is no scientific evidence that any breed or crossbreed is more or less allergenic than any other dog. Some people with mild allergies react less severely to particular dogs, but no reputable breeder will guarantee that their dogs are hypoallergenic. GetAnAnimal does recommend that if you have mild allergies to dogs or hair, you might want to try an Aussiedoodle or one of our Standard Poodle breeds.
